My first concert! =)
on Toby Keith, 2004 Feb 15
My very first concert. The show started out with a big pickup truck backing out on to the side of the stage, when it parked the truck bed started to unfold its self and became a platform stage for the backup singers. Toby came on and put on a great live show with crowd pleasing songs and entertaining speeches, he is quite the comedian.
As my music taste changed....
on Lynyrd Skynyrd, 2006 Jun 1
In the early 90s i remember riding in my Dads black honda civic listening to cassette tapes of Spin Doctors, Dave Matthews, and other rock artists of that time. In my Moms little red Nissan we would listen to country cassette tapes like Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks and so on... Well growing up i ended up taking the Country route. I listened to that up till i was about 12 years old. Then i heard something i liked. Country singers playing Rock & Roll! I loved it!. Skynyrd was probably the first band to kick start me back into Rock music and became my favorite band for a bit in the early 2000s. This show was great for me because at the time i was just getting into them and happened to know every song they played and could sing along nice and loud!
If you havnt seen The Eagles live, see them!!!!
on Eagles, 2008 Jul 26
This concert audio wise, was the best concert i have ever seen. The Eagles dont put on much of a "showman act" but they dont need to. Their harmonies literally gave me chills. If you are looking for a live band that sounds exactly like the record, my suggestion is find a ticketmaster booth now and find where they are playing next! =)
We need to see a concert every Fathers Day =P
on Aerosmith, 2009 Jun 21
Aerosmith is by far my all time favorite band, so this concert was bound to be great! I really got hooked on Aerosmith after riding the Rockin' RollerCoaster at Disney world where Rag Doll was played while i rode. I had the song stuck in my head for weeks so i decided to do a little research and find what other songs i might like by them. Come to find out, i LOVE all of them. But anyways i had bought tickets for me and my girlfriend at the time, my Dad came along too. The concert was on Fathers Day so we got to skip the boring dinner at my Grandfathers house =P Me and my Dad joke every year now saying who is coming to town Fathers Day so we dont have to go see family hahaha. ZZ Top opened up and played a great show. When they went off, there was probably a 40 min break in between setting up for Aerosmith. The anxiety was horrible! But when they came on it was great! Steven Tylers voice is a main reason why i love the band and he sounded great. 60 years old and still hitting notes and screaming better than most of these 20 year old wannabe rockstars. By far one of the best concerts i have ever seen.
My biggest concert....
on Paul McCartney, 2009 Aug 1
Paul is a hero of mine, always will be. I told myself the next time he comes to town, i dont care what the price of tickets are im gonna go see him. Well i got an email from his fan club saying he is coming to FedEx Field and i get tickets first since im in the club :D i knew fan clubs were great for something. So me and my Dad got tickets, apparently so did about 65,000 other people!! Paul put on an amazing show. He did 2 encore's and somewhere i read that this show was one of the longest sets in concert history with 37 songs. Hearing that many people sing Hey Jude at the same time gave me chills. I even get them now when i talk about it, can you imagine being Paul McCartney and having that many people sing and appreciate your song that much? It has to be the best feeling in the world...
I felt a little out of place....
on KISS, 2009 Oct 13
So im a huge Buckcherry fan. When i heard they were opening for KISS I had to go. So we (when i say we i mean me my dad and my brother) get there and our seats are way up where you need an oxygen tank to breathe cus the air is too thin and you need a sattelite to see the stage. Well we go to get in our seats and a lady stops us and hands us tickets to nearly floor! its right along the side of stage about 15 rows up or so. WOAH! That was pretty awesome i must say. But i felt a little out of place singing every word to every Buckcherry song, while everyone around me is wearing makeup, glitter and high heals higher than my Moms. Buckcherry put on a great yet very loud performance and KISS put on quite a show with their pyrotechnics, lights, blood, fire, makeup and all that stuff KISS is known for.
My first concert at Ram's Head Live!
on Papa Roach, 2009 Nov 9
My first concert at Ram's Head Live! was Kill Hannah, Morningwood, Jet, and Papa Roach. I went with my ex girlfriend. We get there and its general admission so we fought our way as close as we could get. Well right before Roach comes on this mid 40 year old women standing next to me asks me "Hey are you gonna be able to protect me from those 300 pound bikers when they start moshing?" Uhhhhh lady i am a 135 pound white guy, do i look like i can protect you? lol. But in the end i think i held my own. Nobody got hurt, and few things got broken haha. I even got 10 feet from Jacoby Shaddix when he came into the crowd! Great show!
F***ing Traffic
on Nickelback, 2010 Apr 13
So the day of the concert I had to pick up my girlfriend from her college and go to the show from there, well freaking Obama was having some nuclear blah blah convention and every a-hole politician had the roads shut down so they could pass. So i sat in traffic for 2 hours and missed Sick Puppies and Shinedown. I was pissed the whole time Breaking Benjamin played but when Nickelback came on i was so impressed with how great they sounded i had to forget about my frustration. They put on a great show and were so personal with the crowd it was like he was talking to each person on an individual level. Great vocals great guitars great stage presence great setlist.....
Hanging with my hero
on The Gracious Few, 2010 Oct 2
If you dont know, im a singer and musician. My all time biggest vocal influences are Steven Tyler, and Kevin Martin. I found out The Gracious Few were coming to The State Theatre and I knew i had to go. The day of the show I decided to show up to the show really early and try to get into sound check. I got there and TGF tour bus was parked out back the venue so i walked over and started taking pictures of the bus and suddenly the tour bus door flys open and out come Kevin Martin, Chad Taylor, and Chad Gracey. "Comin to the show?" Taylor asked. "Ill be there" i said "Wanna see the bus?" "Hell yeah." So they led me on the bus where Sean Hennesey was watching tv flippin through channels. He introduced himself along with the rest of the band, we shook hands and talked about music and stuff. They offered me beer but i rejected. I asked if i could get in for sound check and they said yeah so i waited till 5:30 for sound check. i had invited a bunch of friends to come by then so we all got in for sound check. The band gave us all drum sticks, signed our tickets, and took pictures. Its amazing to see they are so down to earth and care about their fans soo much that they are willing to hang out with them for a few hours. So thats my story of me hanging with one of my favorite singers of all time. Me and Chad Taylor have became friends and talk through Facebook now and then about music stuff. The Gracious Few put on a SUPERB live show and if you havnt gotten a chance to listen to them, go buy their album NOW! If they come to your town make sure you get tickets. If you get to meet them, tell Kevin that Tommy Perrell from VA says "Get me some damn ear plugs!!!!" inside joke, he knows what im talkin about.
