Excellent
on Van Halen, 1981 Aug 19
Opening act was G-Force featuring Gary Moore. Eddie broke a string during "Everybody Wants Some", Diamond Dave took off on a monologue as Eddie restrung the broken string on the frankenstrat. Those were the days, now someone would just hand you another guitar...
Awesome Show!
on AC/DC, 1982 Jan 28
The opener was "Hells Bells", perfect selection with the giant bell being slowly lowered. I saw them again on the "Black Ice" Tour at the Verizon Center in Washington DC. They still have it.
Loverboy - The Hooters
on Loverboy, 1986 Feb 4
The opening act was THE HOOTERS, followed by LOVERBOY, who closed out the show.
on Robert Plant, 1988 Oct 20
Opening act was Joan Jett supporting her hit "I hate myself for loving you".
Outstanding!!!!
on KISS, 1996 Oct 6
Opening song was "Deuce". I had never seen the original line-up, having seen the Creatures of the Night tour with Vinnie Vincent.
Awesome!
on KISS, 2003 Aug 9
Opening Act was SALIVA, Then KISS, Then AEROSMITH. It looked like a mass exodus about 5 songs into Aerosmith's set.
Def Leppard - Poison - Cheap Trick
on Def Leppard, 2009 Jul 12
Opening Act was CHEAP TRICK, followed by POISON, and closed out by DEF LEPPARD.
Rock Superbowl XI
on REO Speedwagon, 1981 Jul 4
Opening act was BILLY SQUIER, followed by ROSSINGTON-COLLINS BAND, followed by FOGHAT, then the headliner REO SPEEDWAGON.
Rock Superbowl XI
on The Rossington-Collins Band, 1981 Jul 4
The opening act was BILLY SQUIER, followed by the ROSSINGTON-COLLINS BAND, followed by FOGHAT, then the headliner, REO SPEEDWAGON.
Rock Superbowl XI
on Billy Squier, 1981 Jul 4
The opening act was BILLY SQUIER, followed by the ROSSINGTON-COLLINS BAND, followed by FOGAT, then the headliner, REO SPEEDWAGON.
Billy Squier's opening number was "In The Dark"
on REO Speedwagon, 1981 Jul 4
This was the second show that I caught from REO Speedwagon on the "Hi Infidelity" tour, and the set list was almost identical. The opening number was "Don't Let Him Go", and the rest pretty much followed the set list on the DVD of this tour filmed at Nichols Arena in Denver.
Aersomith-KISS-Saliva
on Aerosmith, 2003 Aug 9
The opening act was SALIVA, followed by KISS, and closed out by Aersomith. About 5 songs into Aerosmith's set, it looked like a mass exodus. Very difficult for anybody to follow KISS. I don't know if it was just that the majority of the crowd was there for KISS, or the horrendous parking lots at Nissan/Jiffy Lube, or the fact that Aerosmith launched into a bunch of blues numbers that the crowd wasn't familiar with. Whatever it was, you kinda had to feel bad for the band watching the exodus.
Aerosmith-KISS-Saliva
on Saliva, 2003 Aug 9
The opening act was SALIVA, followed by KISS, and closed out by AEROSMITH.
Saliva put on a tight opener, that made me a fan.
Def Leppard - Poison - Cheap Trick
on Poison, 2009 Jul 12
The opening act was CHEAP TRICK, followed by POISON, and closed out by DEF LEPPARD.
I had never seen Poison before so I was wondering what would show up after having watched CC on Celebrity Rehab, and BM on all of his reality shows. They were actually a pretty type unit, CC was the most impressive, a really talented guitar player. BM has to do something with that doo-rag get up. If your bald, then embrace it, flaunt it, work it, whatever. That rag covering a wig or whatever is up there is just plain hideous. All said, he was still a decent front guy.
Def Leppard - Poison - Cheap Trick
on Cheap Trick, 2009 Jul 12
The opening act was CHEAP TRICK, followed by POISON, and closed out by DEF LEPPARD.
Cheap Trick kicks ass, just like they have everytime I have seen them, and this was the 8th time. In fact they were the reason why I went to this show. They did receive crappy opening act treatment by the headliner, such as, lower volume, almost no lighting, and "Don't go out onto the catwalk". Despite all this, they kicked ass!
Joe Satriani: The Wormhole Tour
on Joe Satriani, 2010 Dec 15
This show was actually at the Strathmore in Bethesda, but that was not an option to select, so I went with The Bayou.
Heart - Cheap Trick - Blue Oyster Cult - Firefall - UFO
on Heart, 1981 Apr 18
The opening act for Rock Superbowl X in the Tangerine Bowl was UFO, followed by FIREFALL, then BLUE OYSTER CULT, then CHEAP TRICK, with HEART closing out the night.
Firefall sucked so bad and was out of place in this line-up. The booing was horific and it seemed like they shortened their set. UFO kicked ass and should have been higher up the bill. Blue Oyster Cult was good, but they played during the shift from daylight to night, so unfortunately the strobe show during "Godzilla" was'nt that great as the sun was still out. Cheap Trick stole this show, hands down, they were the best. This was my first Trick show, up to nine currently. Heart was good, but they hit a mellow accoustic patch that just slowed everything down way to slow.

A decent show. The opening act was the Henry Paul Band, followed by The Outlaws, then Nazareth.
KISS - Plasmatics
on KISS, 1983 Feb 4
Weny O. Williams and her band, The Plasmatics opened this show. Kiss was supporting "Creatures of the Night". My first of 3 Kiss shows. This one had Vinnie Vincent and Eric Carr.
The Go-Go's - A Flock of Seagulls
on The Go-Go's, 1982 Sep 21
The opening act was A FLOCK OF SEAGULLS, followed by THE GO-GO'S, who closed the show. Made it down to the stage, thinks to my sister who just pushed on through. This was my first non-hard rock show. The audience was quite different, in a less intimidating way than say a BLACK SABBATH crowd.
Loverboy - The Hooters
on The Hooters, 1986 Feb 4
The opening act was THE HOOTERS, followed by LOVERBOY, who closed out the show.
Queen with Paul Rodgers
on Queen, 2006 Mar 9
Opening song was "Tie Your Mother Down". It was almost like a Bad Company concert. Paul Rodgers is a great singer.
Cheap Trick
on Cheap Trick, 2005 Jun 2
With Gold Circle Seating, I wound up with seats in the second row directly in front of Rick Nielsen's amplifier armada. The opening song was "Big Eyes". Ear-ringing persisted the next day, all day long.
Cheap Trick - Willowz
on Cheap Trick, 2010 May 22
The opening act was WILLOWZ, followed by CHEAP TRICK who closed the show.
Weathered the rain to witness a awesome show. First time out of nine Cheap Trick shows that I have seen "Heaven Tonight" performed live. Excellent performance, they should keep it in the set list.
Survivor - The Romantics
on Survivor, 2009 Aug 22

"War Pigs" was the opening song. The band had Ronnie James Dio at the helm in support of "Heaven and Hell".
Black Sabbath - Riot - Johnny Van Zant Band
on Riot, 1980 Sep 5
MY FIRST CONCERT!!!!
Riot kicked some ass. Not exactly like having Van Halen as the opening act, but they did well. Afterwards I went out and bought the album they were supporting, "Fire Down Below". Has some great songs like, "Swords and Tequila"
