THIS WHO CONCERT in 1965
The 'George' as we used to call it, was probably one of the best best places in the the Midlands to see the top bands of the day close up. The ballroom only held about 300 max. and the atmsosphere was truly electric. Whe I saw the Who for the first time with my mates it was awsome, and with Moony doing his his best to wreck everything and evryone within an arms length, quite frightening too. Townsend was the best guitarist I had seen till the then, and to this day is up there with my all time greats.
I think the cost that night was about £1, though I didn't pay because my mum worked in the top bar so I got in free. I got may band autogrphs including the Who, and met a lot of big names of the day in person...oh the old days eh....!
